A little company when I’m working alone

I wanted a little company while working alone, without a call or a conversation to keep up with. Here’s how a little dragon on my phone found its place beside me.

After a long stretch of working alone, the room can feel very quiet. Sometimes I want a little company, but I don’t particularly want to talk.

I’ve tried leaving a voice chat open, and playing videos with people talking. They filled the silence, but left me feeling more tired. Part of my attention was still on listening or responding.

I wanted something gentler: a little companion at my desk, there when I glanced over and happy to let me get on with my day. That wish became part of Peilo.

A glance is enough

When I use Peilo, I put my phone beside me. The little dragon is there on the screen. I look over, then carry on with what I’m doing.

There isn’t much I need to do. I don’t have to keep interacting with it or stop working to make sure it feels looked after.

Peilo’s phone app can keep you company on its own. You don’t need to connect a PC or join a call.

Company that fits around my day

I choose when to start, when to pause, and when to come back. I don’t want companionship to become another obligation, or to feel guilty because I’ve been busy and haven’t looked over.

There’s already enough to manage when I work alone. Having Peilo beside me should make those hours feel a little more comfortable.

Sometimes, a little presence is enough

When I’m stuck and staring into space, seeing the dragon still there helps me feel a little more settled. When the work is going well, I can stay with it.

Of course, it’s different from spending time with another person. But for these quiet hours at my desk, this little presence feels right.

Peilo is currently in small-scale Android testing. See how Peilo works on your phone, or join the early access list if you’d like to try it.
